WHAT IS A GUS ?

GUS: Utility and Sport Segway

GUS is a next-generation electric self-balancing wheelchair, developed in France by GusNGo.

Innovative

GUS is a unique self-balancing scooter with a seated position.

It offers up to 30 km of range, a patented anti-tip protection system, and connected after-sales support for real-time assistance.

Electric and intuitive

Without a joystick or effort, you move simply by shifting your body.

Thanks to its optimized dimensions, GUS moves easily even in places not designed for traditional wheelchairs.

Highly maneuverable

With a width of 63 cm and its two drive wheels, GUS can turn 360° on the spot.

Perfect for small spaces, urban environments, or narrow interiors.

100 % French

Designed, developed, and manufactured in France, GUS is the result of 100% French expertise, combining innovation, quality, and local commitment.

_The begining_

GUS, an invention born from the heart

The first GUS prototype with a lawnmower seat – 2015

It all started with a harsh blow.
One day, Pascal Malvezin suddenly lost the use of his legs. Soon, he realized that conventional wheelchairs didn’t suit him. Too bulky. Too rigid. Too painful for his already fragile shoulders.
His autonomy, his freedom, his daily life — everything seemed compromised.

But Pascal was not alone.
By his side, his stepson, Philippe Cardoso, refused to see his stepfather trapped in immobility. One day, together, they tinkered. On a self-balancing scooter, they attached a lawnmower seat. It was wobbly, a little crazy… yet it worked.

The chair moved. Pascal smiled. And around him, at the hospital, people’s reactions changed. Patients, caregivers, first responders: all stopped, curious, amused, intrigued.

There was something powerful, new, possible.
A simple idea: to give back the power to move.

Pascal and Philippe realized they had something special. An object that could change the lives of others like Pascal — people searching for a tool that is smoother, smarter, more human.

They then dreamed of an electric wheelchair as maneuverable as a self-balancing scooter, designed for real life, and above all, made in France with care, precision, and independence.

But to go further, they were missing a third partner.

That’s when they crossed paths with Jean-Marc Imbert. A performing arts equestrian artist and an electronics genius, Jean-Marc is a born inventor, a tinkerer of the impossible. He creates machines no one dares to imagine: remote-controlled self-balancing scooters, horse-driven cars…

Moved by their project, he agreed to join them.

With him, the trio was complete. Three men. Three visions. One shared mission: to design a revolutionary, accessible, and reliable wheelchair, capable of adapting to existing homes instead of requiring homes to adapt to it.

Thus, GUS was born.

A Utility and Sport Segway, born from a slightly crazy idea, a very real need, and a strong determination to give people with reduced mobility the power to move with pride and freedom.

GUS is an electric self-balancing wheelchair, but above all, it’s a human story.
An invention driven by the desire to do better, to do things differently.
A simple, ingenious, French solution to a universal challenge: regaining mobility, without compromise.
